Assistant Sports Performance Coach

Elizabeth Shrode

When did you start working for DiamondFit Performance?
I began with DiamondFit in January of 2019 as an intern while completing my bachelor’s degree at UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduating, I officially became part of the team as an assistant coach in September of 2019.

What sports have you played?
I grew up in an active family and participated in various sports, including swimming, gymnastics, dance, and volleyball. In high school, I spent one season on the junior varsity volleyball team, but after a spinal injury, I dedicated the remainder of my high school career to the varsity diving team, competing in conference and regional championships for 2 seasons. After high school, I pursued my passion for competitive Latin Dance professionally. Currently, I continue to coach swimming, from young beginners to competitive advanced swimmers, as well as performing, competing and instructing Latin Dance here in RDU. In 2018, my partner and I placed 3rd in the world at both the International Latin Dance Championship and the World Latin Dance Cup.

Tell us something about yourself!
I absolutely love to travel! I frequently travel for dance performances and events, and I have been blessed to visit many places. But my favorite would have to be in Spain, where I visit annually! I have a little bit of a knack for gardening, hence my small collection of succulents. I also love to sing and have studied music since I was little.
